Well this needs to happen immediately
Reason #847 Why I’m a Kickass Employee: I bring in homemade treats for birthdays
Wow I am really bad at writing these up. I’m behind two weeks now! Ok so two weekends ago, I took a break and my friend Jackie bake up Paula Deen’s Pumpkin Bars. They were absolutely sinful! And butterlicious, of course. Here’s the recipe. I highly suggest it.
After all the treats I’ve been making, Boyfriend requested I take a break from the sweets, so on Sunday (after carving up our pumpkin), I roasted the pumpkin seeds. I found a plethora of recipes involving various spices, but I decided to go the simple route and cook them in olive oil and sea salt, using this recipe. According to Boyfriend, “A good start, but needs experimentation.” Maybe next time, I’ll try some of the fancy spices.
This is my last weekend making pumpkin treats. I’m not sure which route to go: traditional with a pumpkin pie or a twist like pumpkin spiced latte cupcakes. Any thoughts?
Ok so I know I’m really late on writing this one up, but my second choice for my pumpkin treat series was…wait for it…Pumpkin NUTELLA Swirl Bread. This is probably one of the best things I have ever made in my life. So simple and so delicious. Even Boyfriend’s Roommate approved (although he eats everything).
Link to recipe is here. I highly recommend this one. It will not disappoint.
p.s. I made two normal-sized loaves, and froze one of them to keep it fresh.
Lately, I have found dozens of recipes for pumpkin treats, mostly on Pinterest. So I’ve decided that every weekend in October, I’m going to make one of these recipes and share them here.
First treat: Lowfat Pumpkin Oatmeal Spice Cookies. You can find the recipe here.
Wet and dry ingredients
Mixed all together.
Although it sounds awesome and delicious, these cookies were disappointing, at least to me. Boyfriend is enjoying them. They taste kinda dry, so maybe next time less oats or more pumpkin? I left out the glaze, so maybe that was the problem.
I’m hoping next weekend’s treat turns out better. I’m thinking pumpkin bread or brownies…
Nutella Hot Chocolate -1 cup of milk (any kind of milk will work) -2 spoonfuls of Nutella (this is my preference, but feel free to add as much or as little as you like) -whipped cream -mini marshmallows Directions: Pour about 1/4 of the milk into a saucepan on medium-low heat. Add the Nutella and whisk until blended. Slowly stir in the remaining milk. Add a pinch of cinnamon and whisk until hot and frothy. Carefully pour the mixture into a mug, add whipped cream, and mini marshmallows.
Just made this and it tastes AMAZING!
Glee in cookie form!
In honor of Boyfriend’s birthday and for the many Memorial Day BBQ’s this weekend, I decided to make some Cookies and Cream cupcakes. These are super tasty and super easy to make, plus everyone is really impressed when they eat them.

What to do:
What I did Easter weekend: Painted my nails Tiffany Blue and made Ina Garten’s coconut cupcakes. Although next time, I’m definitely cutting back on the almond in that recipe because it was like all almond, very little coconut.
